Jonas has been going to the Annex daily as he usually do and now he could see more colors and see them more often. Jonas has now experienced painful and pleasure memories which have made him gain more knowledge than others. He have now been given the memory of pain of a broken leg which was really painful for him, even though he didn't actually broke his leg in real world he could still feel the the pain after the the memories transplant. He have also have the memory of war, and many others but even though they are pain full he keeps wanting to have them because he knows its what he needs to be a good Receiver of Memories. The Giver has also give him nice and pleasure memories like christmas in which he could feel love. Baby gave have been staying at Jonas family unit house in which he sleeps with Jonas so their parents can get some sleep. Jonas carried baby gave one night when he was crying and he could feel that one of his memories was transfering to the baby, when he tried to see the memory again it was less brighting and had lots some colors and baby gave have stop crying. Then, baby gave woke up again and Jonas past all the memory so he could sleep calm.
While I was reading this book I found a quote that showed that people in Jonas community have forgotten what the real meaning of LOVE is. " Do yo love me? There was an akward silence for a moment. Then Father gave a little chuckle. Jonas. You, of all people. Precision of language, please! What do you mean? Jonas asked. Amusment was not all what he had anticipated. Your Father means that you used a very generalized word, so meaningless thats its become almost obsolete, his mother explained carrefully." I think that they don't really know the meaning of love because they don't have the opportunity to know what it is and how it feel because they don't have some one to love. I think this because they are given a family unit and they give them pills for their stirings.
In conclusion, I think this book had send good messages to the reader because it makes him think of some of the problems that Jonas community share withs our own life to see if its good or bad. Also, it makes you wander of how is it better, to have memories or just have a little amount of them and understand the basics. Farther more, I think that what they do which is keeping the memories from others so they don't feel pain is something good because they help the society be calm and not scared, but I think they should give the good and pleasurable memories so the society feels secure.

The Receiver of Memories?
The ceremonies had finally end and Jonas and asher were heading home when Jonas noticed that people started to treat him different because he was the new receiver of memories. Jonas was fealing separate, a little different from the rest. When he first met the giver who was the last reciever of memories before him he was in a room full with outstanding furniture and with a huge number of books. The Giver started to pass a small memories to Jonas which was snow, then he gave him the memories of sunset and then he gave him the memory of sun burn. During the transmission of memories, Jonas experienced pain and pleasure. After he had this memories Jonas saw the color red and he told this to the Giver. The Giver understood this and he was going to give the memory of a rainbow so he can know more colors.
A quote that called my attention was "Climate control. Snow made growing food difficult, limited the agricultural periods. And unpredictible weather made transportation almost impossible at times." This quote really called my attention because it made me wonder in a lot of stuff. one of them was that if they control weather they should live under a dome or something. Another thing was that I think that Jonas will try to brake or do something to the wether control so people can see snow and other weathers. I also made a connection the Truman show because i thought they live in a dome just as Truman did.
In conclusion these book was and continues to be a really entertaining book full with surprises. In this book I could difference a lot of feeling from Jonas when he was being pass the memories. Also it made me wander how was their old world like, was it like ours or was it different.

The Giver Summary Chapter 5-8
At the beginning of chapter 5, we can see something interesting about the community. Jonas was at the morning ritual where they share they dreams, in which he rarely participated. He share that he dream that Fiona and him were at the house of the old were they bath the old but they were alone, Jonas was arguing with Fiona to get her cloths off and get in the tub. The ceremony day has arrived and they started with the new born, in here they named the baby and gave it to their family unit. Later on the book they get to the ceremony of 12 were they assigned each kid a job, they went in numbers and Jonas was 19. They started to give the assignments and when number 19 was supposed to be called they, Jonas number, they didn't said it causing shame, fear and stress to Jonas. At the end of the ceremony of 12 the elder apologised to Jonas and told him that he was selected to be the next receiver of memories, which was a honorable job in the community.
This book has lots of themes and one of them is individuality. An example of individuality could be on page 44 "This new Caleb was a replacement child. The couple had lost their first Caleb, a cheerful little Four. loss of a child was very very rare." This quote tells us that in this community you can easily be replaced so you are not really important to the Elders. This also shows that you do not have much individuality because if you die another person will come and replace your place in the community.
I found this book really interesting and appropriate to any age. This book like I told earlier has lots of themes that are easily distinguish. It also has lots of suspense and mystery during the whole book. I am looking forward to keep reading this book because I think its really fun and entertaining and it also leaves you a good message and something to think about.

The Giver Chapter 1-4 Summary
The book the giver is about a perfect community in which you are given a family unit. In this community you have to apply for a child and you can only have two kids, a male and a female inside your family unit. In here the rules are very strict and if you brake one or disturb the community peace you might get released people are afraid of being released because they don't know what happen when you get released. Every time you turn to a new age theirs a ceremony in which the elder give you something depending which age you turn. When you turn twelve in the community its the most important age because you have a ceremony in which the elderly give you your job. Jonas was an eleven year old male that leave normally in the community. He was about to turn twelve and he couldn't wait. If you want to have a job you should have minimum of hours done in volunteer hours. Jonas did lots of volunteer hours so he didn't know for sure what job will he get.
Text Responce 1-4
"Thats all?" he asked. "Thats all," she replied, returning the bottle to the cupboard. "But you mustn't forget. Ill remember you for the first weeks, but then you must do it on your own. If you forget, the stirrings will come back. The dreams from the stirrings will come back. Sometimes the dosage must be adjusted"( pg. 37-38)
From this quote I see that the stirrings can't happen because if you have them they make them go away by giving you the pill. The stirrings show your feelings towards others and they don't want you to get in love with someone. I think this is unfair because if you like someone you shouldn't be stop because someones doesn't think its right. I think that if you fall in love with some one they should let you show it and don't give you pills to change your feeling.
Conclusion 1-4
The Giver wrote by Lois Lowry is a book fill with emotion and mystery because it has a lot of interesting events that leave you with the thought of what will happen. This book takes place in a utopian world because there is no trouble and if there is they get released. Jonas the main character is about to turn 12 with is the most important age because they give you a job. Jonas doesn't know which job he will get because the elders observe the places you most do volunteer hours but Jonas always go to different places to do volunteer hours so he doesn't know which job he will be assigned.
